Japan's crude oil imports rose 0.4% in March from a year earlier after customs clearance, data from the Ministry of Finance showed Thursday. Japan, the world's fourth-largest importer of crude oil, imported 2.63 million barrels per day (12.982,000 million liters) in March, preliminary data showed.

Japan's LNG imports fell 12.0 per cent year-on-year to 5.723 million tonnes last month, the data showed. Imports of thermal coal for power generation fell 19.9 per cent to 8.505 million tonnes.
